Youth Programs

Field Days for Young People

Farm Field Days for young people designed by young people!

This season we will be hosting field days exclusively for our community partners with summer youth programs during July and August. The field days have been designed to bring each group a full and enriching experience rooted in community, land stewardship and food sovereignty. Our goal is to host field trips with our community partners with summer youth programs serving youth ages 14-24. Group size should be 10-30 with adequate adult supervision. This is a free opportunity. If transportation is a barrier, please reach out.

In addition to our KGD staff, we will have three summer youth apprentices to provide this experience.

Take a look at our sample agenda below for more information.

It is vitally important that each generation understands the process it takes to get food on their plates and gain the skills to be able to grow their own food! Youth 14-19 are invited to join us throughout the season at our open volunteer hours at the KGD Farm to complete community service hours.

If you are a teacher or youth group leader who is interested in engaging your youth in a beginner garden class, food systems class, volunteer time at the KGD Farm or would like a speaker for your event please contact us.

If you are a youth or parent and have questions contact Co-Director Rosebud
