Board of Directors
Join the KGD Board of Directors
Keep Growing Detroit is seeking two new Board members to join us in building a food-sovereign city
Board members are more than advisors. They are community builders, ambassadors, and partners in our mission. The Board works alongside staff to ensure KGD stays true to our mission and accountable to the community we serve. While staff lead day-to-day operations, Board members provide guidance on policies, finances, programs, and community engagement. We also practice shared leadership rather than a traditional executive committee, with a Leadership Team of three co-chairs, a treasurer, and a secretary.
This is an opportunity to:
Help strengthen and guide KGD’s nationally recognized programs including the Garden Resource Program.
Support accountability through open-book management and shared decision-making.
Represent and connect communities across Detroit, Hamtramck, and Highland Park in our collective vision for food sovereignty.
Interested candidates should apply HERE by September 25, 2025
For more information, please review the KGD Board Member Position Description and feel free to reach out to ashley@keepgrowingdetroit.org with any questions.
We look forward to welcoming new voices and perspectives to help keep Detroit growing!
