TEDDY WHITE
he/him
Board Member
is Director of Lending at Detroit Community Wealth Fund, deploying non‑extractive financing across the city. A born‑and‑raised Detroiter, he comes from a lineage of growers—his mom grew up on a farm in Western Wayne County. Today, Teddy tends his own backyard and community garden, practices as an herbalist, and has been a proud member of Keep Growing Detroit’s Garden Resource Program since 2022.
His career spans GE Capital, PNC Bank, and pioneering Community Land Trusts at Cinnaire Lending. Now on KGD’s board, he’s committed to a food sovereign Detroit—where residents grow most of what we eat.
An abolitionist, yogi, and music lover, Teddy also serves as Board Treasurer for Detroit Community Wealth Fund. He can’t stop talking about KGD because once you grow your own food, you want the whole city to taste freedom.
