TICKETS FOR THE 2026 ANNUAL TOUR ARE SOLD OUT

The Annual Farm and Garden Tour brings Detroit’s food community together to explore the farms and gardens that sustain the city—highlighting local ecosystems, shared stewardship, and community connection. Visit a variety of growing spaces, hear and walk through the stories of their gardens in Detroit, Highland Park and Hamtramck. The tour showcases a range of gardens, including family, homestead, community, school, and market-focused spaces. Following the tour, we’ll have a celebration at KGD Farm.

Every garden has a story, and every grower has a journey. The true value of the tour lies not just in seeing growing spaces, but in hearing the stories that bring them to life. The KGD Farm & Garden Tour offers a unique opportunity to hear directly from the people who steward these spaces—the challenges they've overcome, the traditions they carry forward, the lessons they've learned, and the dreams they're cultivating for the future. These stories remind us that local farms & gardens are about more than growing food; they are about growing community, preserving culture, building resilience, and creating hope. By sharing our stories, we deepen our connections to one another and leave inspired to plant new seeds in our own neighborhoods and lives.

Tickets

Bus and bike tour routes begin and end at KGD Farm, 3100 Orleans. General admission tickets are $25. Tickets for youth ages 12 and under are $10. Each ticket includes admission to the tour and celebration at KGD Farm afterwards featuring seasonal dishes by local chefs utilizing Grown in Detroit produce!

There will be two buses visiting a variety of local farms - one for the eastside and one for the westside. As always, we’ll also have a tour via bike. Stay tuned for more details about the farms featured on this year’s tour!

Tour Descriptions

• 🚲BIKE: Pedal through one of Detroit's most vibrant growing neighborhoods, where urban farms, food hubs, reforestation, and community creativity flourish just minutes apart.

• 🚌WESTSIDE BUS: From pollinator habitats to a groundbreaking urban food forest and research farm and the region's largest raised-bed garden, the Westside tour highlights three inspiring stops.

• 🚌EASTSIDE BUS: Celebrate the Eastside's rich gardening legacy with visits to three unique spaces that showcase breathtaking blooms, community revitalization, and Detroit's growing roots.

As the routes are carefully curated from members of the Garden Resource Program, many of the tour stops are privately owned. A final list of the routes will be sent to attendees.
