CORA POTTS
She/Her
Garden Development + Outreach Assistant
Cora started at KGD in 2025 as a Youth Apprentice and is back as a seasonal Garden Development + Outreach Assistant! Connecting with neighbors has been her greatest motivator and place of encouragement. She can be found in gardens across the city, or connecting with community members. Cora deeply values and practices being a social advocate especially for the Black and Brown public. As well as maintaining a sustainable and intentional lifestyle, through second-hand materials and pre-existing resources. And finally, is a strong supporter of community development. She has had Detroit family roots established by her grandmother in 1930. Studying Detroit’s cultural impact on her and her family, she has made her way through the socio-cultural way of art making in the city. She has an innate interest in farm to fabric, as well as experimentation with natural fibers and dyes. Cora got her BFA from Wayne State University in May 2026.
