Tour Descriptions

  • Eastside Youth Walking Tour

    • Join us for an exciting and colorful walking tour where we'll be exploring three gardens in the Poletown neighborhood. Along the way, we’ll enjoy fun activities, learn about plants and pollinators, and connect with people growing food in our community.

  • Northeast Bus Tour

    • Join Keep Growing Detroit for a guided farm and garden tour through Northeast Detroit led by KGD staff member Angela Lugo-Thomas, a long-time leader in the city’s urban agriculture movement. This tour will highlight stops at sites managed by Garden Resource Program members and will pass by GRP regional hubs at Georgia Street Community Collective and Oakland Avenue Urban Farm. Attendees will visit a market garden producing flowers and food for sale, a youth-centered farm that trains young people and adults in urban agriculture, and an up and coming site featuring a Grown in Detroit pilot honor stand market. You will also learn about the Detroit Black Farmer Land Fund of which KGD is a partner. All tour stops have uneven sidewalks with most paths made of woodchips and grass.

  • Northwest/Highland Park Bus Tour

    • Discover what’s growing on Detroit’s Northwest and the city of Highland Park during the 2025 Garden Tour! This year’s tour features two inspiring community gardens, a healing homestead focused on medicinal herbs and foraging, and vibrant spaces where food, flowers, and wellness thrive. You’ll also pass by the westside resource hub and a garden showcasing smart use of urban space. All stops are wheelchair accessible, with most paths made of woodchips and grass. Come be inspired.
