Eastside Youth Walking Tour with Sterling Bowman-Randall
Join us for an exciting and colorful walking tour geared toward youth ages 12 and under, although all are welcome! We'll be exploring three gardens in the Poletown neighborhood. Along the way, we’ll enjoy fun activities, learn about plants and pollinators, and connect with people growing food in our community.
Northeast Bus Tour with Angela Lugo-Thomas
This tour will highlight stops at sites managed by Garden Resource Program members and will pass by two GRP regional hubs. Attendees will visit a market garden producing flowers and food for sale, a youth-centered farm that trains young people and adults in urban agriculture, and an up-and-coming site featuring a Grown in Detroit pilot honor stand market. You will also learn about the Detroit Black Farmer Land Fund, of which KGD is a partner. All tour stops have uneven sidewalks with most paths made of wood chips and grass.
Northwest/Highland Park Bus Tour with Jessica Pitts
Discover what’s growing on Detroit’s Northwest and the city of Highland Park during the 2025 Garden Tour! This year’s tour features two inspiring community gardens, a healing homestead focused on medicinal herbs and foraging, and vibrant spaces where food, flowers, and wellness thrive. You’ll also pass by the westside resource hub and a garden showcasing smart use of urban space. Pathways of these gardens are made of wood chips and grass. Come be inspired.
Eastside Bike Tour with Gabi Reni
Join us for a serene tour through three captivating gardens, each with its own story to tell. Experience the charm of a family homestead garden, the collective spirit of a community garden, and the healing power of a medicinal market garden. The pathways of these gardens are wood chips and grass. It's a journey through a neighborhood full of heart, vision, and a deep connection to nature. Come ride with us and let the beauty of these spaces restore and inspire you!
